Robert has a beautiful home built on posts on the lake in Smyrna. He noticed that the home had started to lean. This was caused by water flowing underground during heavy rains. He had not heard of anyone that could make this type of repair until he heard about Woodford Brothers from his carpenter who had seen our sign. He called our office and was greeted by our Customer Care department. An appointment was arranged with our design specialist to provide a free estimate. On the day of the inspection our design specialist came up with a great plan to straighten the home using a system of cables and reinforce the home with Y Bracing. The added step of installing a drainage system called EZ Flow was installed on the exterior of the home to help divert water from the home and prevent future problems. Our design Specialist provided Robert with a quote on spot. Once complete, a job start date was scheduled. Our crew, led by Bill, arrived at the home in Smyrna and they were able to make the repairs to stabilize the home. Now Robert has the peace of mind the home on the lake is stable and will last for many years to come.
The floor in Kevin's new home in Smyrna, NY was uneven. Things on shelves would rattle when you walked by them and cracks were forming in the drywall. It was clear that something was wrong with flooring system in the crawlspace below. It was a vented dirt floor crawlspace. This is the old way of building a home on a crawlspace. Some still use this method. The problem with this old crawlspace thinking is that humid air gets trapped in the crawlspace and condenses all over everything making everything wet. Including the wood floor joists and beams. In the case of Kevin's house the humidity level was consistently high over the years before he moved in so the main street beam was weakened and began to rot. Luckily he called Woodford Brothers to come take a look at the situation. Our design specialist taught Kevin all about the science of the crawlspace. Not only did we fix what was wrong, we encapsulated the entire space, insulated the crawlspace walls and floors, sealed up the crawlspace vents and installed the incredibly efficient yet powerful Sanidry Sedona air system. The musty smells were gone. The floors felt as strong as concrete and the crawlspace is now protected from future problems. Peace of mind restored.
If you would like us to give you a free assessment of your crawlspace, call us at 1-315-696-8971. Our Customer Care Department will set an appointment with one of our expert Design Specialists. If you are ready to change the way your home smells and feels, one of our expert installation crews will help restore your peace of mind once and for all.

You are ready to sell your home but your radon test came back positive. Now what? That is the situation Meg found herself in when she and her husband decided to sell their 1800'a home in Earlville, NY. The EPA recommends installing a radon mitigation system whenever your radon test result is above 4 pCi/L. Radon is a gas that is derived naturally from uranium that decays deep in the soil. The Uranium turns to radon gas which can make it's way into your home through the basement. The radon gas carries particles called radon "daughters". These particles are harmful to humans because once they enter the lungs, they attach themselves and can form cancer cells. After a quick search on the internet, Meg found Woodford Brothers. She chose us because consistency and honesty are important to her when selecting a company to fix her home. Our Design Specialist performed an inspection of her basement to decide the best way to mitigate the radon effectively. We installed a sub slab depressurization system which creates a negative pressure under the basement slab floor. This system redirects any gases in the soil out of the home and into the air above the house so that the air in the home is safer to breathe. If you have radon in your home, book your free estimate with us today.

The basement in this 1800's home was getting wet every time it rained or when the snow melted. The home owners have lived in this 1800's home for 40 years. A couple of years ago, they noticed that it was getting worse. After searching for wet basement repair on the internet, they found Woodford Brothers. Our Customer Care department happily assisted in scheduling a free estimate with our Design Specialist. After assessing the basement and providing different options for repair, it was decided that a brand new Super Sump Plus would be installed in the basement. This is our standard sump that comes with a cast iron Zoeller pump with a special twin liner that leaves space in just in case a backup pump should be added later. The top of the sump is air tight and sits flush with the floor. A special drain is included to allow water from pipe leaks or other water on the floor to make it's way into the sump. The Super Sump Plus also comes standard with a water alarm to alert if the water level rises beyond the pump operating level in the event of a power outage. Our installation crew made quick work of the project so that water in this basement is controlled.
A camp in Mc Donough, NY has been around for over 60 years. It was built with cinder block supports in the crawlspace to hold up the beams that support the flooring system. Over the years the weight of the house has caused the cinder blocks to sink into the soil. Our SmartJack system is designed to last. It's galvanized steel components will hold up in moist environments and the engineered base will not allow the support to settle. Having sinking and settling concrete on your property can lead to a few different problems like tripping hazards and pooling water. This home owner in Smithville Flats, NY has a concrete walkway directly next to his home against the foundation. That can lead to a whole new set of foundation problems. Luckily the PolyLevel foam injection system can fix this problem simply and quickly. By injecting a specially engineered foam below the slab that starts out as liquid and expands at a controlled rate, we can lift the concrete back up to it's original position or slope it away from the home and it's foundation which alleviates all the issues associated with this problem. Don't replace your broken or settling concrete slabs, book your free estimate to lift it.

After an inspection of the concrete, our Design Specialist suggested the use of the NexusPro and SealantPro systems.
NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks that is specially formulated to provide long-lasting protection against damage caused by soil compaction and washout. In turn, Sealant Pro is a state-of-the-art material that bonds with concrete on a molecular level, permanently protecting it from water, dirt, and other contaminants in a single coat. Byron has been living in his Norwich, NY home for over 11 years. Within the past year, he has grown increasingly concerned about the health consequences of living with elevated radon levels in his home. Wanting to look into removing the radon from his home, he decided to reach out to Woodford Bros. for a free estimate for the necessary repairs.
Each radon mitigation system design varies depending on the structure of the home. Homes are generally categorized according to their foundation design. The existence of a basement, crawl space, or slab all determine the proper mitigation system needed. In most cases, radon forces need to be redirected from the "stack effect", this is done by a hole drilled into the slab, crawl space, or surrounding earth to create a suction point. The gas is then redirected through a PVC pipe that is connected to that hole, the pipe is then connected to a fan at the top of the home for proper ventilation. Finally, to resist gas entry, cracks are sealed using a urethane caulking compound. With an effective radon mitigation system installed at his home, Byron can rest assured that his home and health are permanently protected from radon gas.
